Miss Nikki
Owner of Rising Stars Dance Academy
Teacher & Artistic Director
Miss Nikki is originally from Michigan. She relocated to the Toledo area about five years ago. Prior to moving, she grauduated from Madonna University with an Associates Degree in Child Development and went on to the University of Cincinnati's online program to work towards a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is also a proud mother to a two year old daughter.
Nikki began dancing at the age of 3 and obtained most of her dance education from a very reputable dance studio in Michigan. Her experience includes performing at local fairs & events, half time performances at the Detroit Pistons Games, and Detroit Rockers Soccer Games, performances at Disney Land and Disney World, on cruise ships, and much more! Miss Nikki has competed at both the local and national levels. She started her career as a dance assistant at the age of 12 and started teaching her own classes at 16 years old.
Nikki also has a lot of additional experience working with children. She has been a nanny, a daycare teacher, a preschool intern, and has owned an in home childcare in the past.
Miss Nikki's dance background and her teaching background make her a highly qualified instructor. She is excited to share her knowledge and passion for dance with her students!!!
Miss Alisha
Hip-Hop Teacher
Miss Alisha is originally from West Michigan. She studied dance at Central Michigan University where she obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree in Theatre with a Dance Minor. She has choreographed for collegiate dance clubs and high school performing arts groups. She also has worked for 11 years with PRIDE Youth Programs, a drug and violence peer-to-peer prevention program that uses the performing arts to deliver its message. Her experience includes performing with PRIDE of Newaygo County throughout various middle schools and high schools in Michigan and at Alma College, performing with the PRIDE Youth Programs National Team in Washington D.C., various parades, college dance showcases, the West Michigan Showcase, 3 years of high school Color Guard, and 2 years in Color Guard at Central Michigan University with the Chippewa Marching Band. In addition to her dance experience she also has a background in Theatre, Singing, Color Guard, Baton, Figure Skating, and Gymnastics. She enjoys working with older kids and volunteering in the community. She relocated to the Toledo area this past summer and we are glad to have her teaching at Rising Stars Dance Academy!
